I've given this a lot of thought and have concluded that it does not matter who the power is that is pulling Preval's strings.

The fact is that Preval's strings, like those of all the corrupt thieves ruling Haiti, is only being pulled because he likes the personal benefits that come from those who are doing the pulling.

It is not the American government's fault that our government officials will sell their own mothers for a pocket full of coins.

It is not their fault that the members of the Haitian government have no understanding of self respect, dignity, and honor, and are willing to bend over and let others kick them in the rear for a few pennies.

So, I guess the question that we should really be asking is what can we as citizens do to stop what they are doing.

We've already had too much violence in that country, and it never solved anything.

As a member of the Diaspora, I think the idea of a Diaspora embargo is our best weapon.

If we stop sending our money to Haiti, we will force these thieves to see our power.

Only lift the embargo after they amend the constitution to give us double citizenship.

Once that is done, we can go back and start really trying to heal Haiti.
