Yes indeed,

I, too, am not so much in favor for Dual Citizenship simply because I feel is not at that level yet and also Haitian living abroad lack the full patriotism capacity.

All Haitians living abroad know of what is necessary to do in the event they were to want to participate or fulfilled their civic duty to Haiti.

They know what is asked of the Haitian Constitution and clearly they know what to do if they really had Haiti's interests at heart.

* They know that if they have naturalized on any other foreign soil that they must first reject that naturalized citizenship and re-apply for a new Haitian citizenship unless such a Haitian had never been Naturalized.

* Second, after denouncing that Naturalized citizenship such Haitian now must physically live on Haitian soil for a minimum of five consecutive years before they can run for any High office thus governmental position alike.

However, the modification of such a new law such as Dual Nationality cannot yet come to be until most Haitians change their mentality of corruption and submission of Foreign International Interests.

Most Haitian would like to have such a law to be in effect that way they can serve in High Office on the land with one foot in, one foot out that way when push come to shove they can just simply flee the Country.

Thus with that possible fear and known stigma is why it is a choice Haitians must consider with intense great consideration as to what the implication implied within such a demand for the good and interests of the Haitian people and Haiti in whole.

Lastly, I suppose as you have mentioned that they must not know that now Haiti has extradition accords with the US and many other nations in the event some Haitian high officials were to commit a capital crime in Haiti of any sort if the Judiciary Haitian Tribunal deems so certain crimes have been committed.

P.S: That is why I keep on insisting of telling Diaspora that if they really want to do for Haiti being in Governmental high office is not the only way they can do for Haiti and all that affinity to want to see Dual Citizenry allowed in Haiti to run falls within the very same negative connotations that have been speculating about Haitians that they are President Power Hungry kind of mantra.

* That is the only reason why I am not all for it. Otherwise if it was know that a lot of Haitians are incompetent and lack true commitment to Haiti's cause, I would say go for it - for that Dual Citizenry.
